Justin Timberlake lidera con 7 nominaciones los MTV

NUEVA YORK (AP) – Beyonce, quien junto a Justin Timberlake encabeza la lista de nominados a los premios MTV a los videos musicales con siete, se medirá en la categoría de mejor artista del año por su colaboración con Shakira «Beautiful Liar», se anunció el martes.

El clip «Irreplaceable» de la cantante estadounidense fue postulado a video del año, al igual que el ambiciosamente cinemático «What Goes Around … Comes Around» de Timberlake, coprotagonizado por Scarlett Johansson. También compiten en el rubro «Rehab» de Amy Winehouse, «Stronger» de Kanye West, «Umbrella» de Rihanna (con Jay-Z) y «D.A.N.C.E». de Justice.

Timberlake también fue nominado a mejor artista masculino del año y a la colaboración más sensacional por «Sexy Back», con Timbaland.

West y Rihanna recibieron cinco candidaturas. Las de él incluyen artista masculino del año. Las de ella «sencillo gigante del año» por «Umbrella».

Como mejor artista también figuran Akon, T.I. y Robin Thicke por el lado masculino, y Fergie y Nelly Furtado por el femenino.

Amy Winehouse, cuyo disco «Back to Black» es el segundo en su carrera pero el primero lanzado en Estados Unidos, recibió tres nominaciones que incluyen mejor artista nueva y mejor artista femenina del año. En la primera competirá con Lily Allen, Carrie Underwood, Gym Class Heroes y Peter Bjorn & John.

Por el premio al mejor grupo compiten Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, Linkin Park, Maroon 5 y los White Stripes.

La 24a entrega anual de los premios MTV a los videos musicales será el 9 de septiembre en el Hotel y Casino Palms de Las Vegas. Participarán en la ceremonia Kanye West, Fall Out Boy, Amy Winehouse, Chris Brown, los Foo Fighters y Rihanna.

Timbaland será el «maestro» de ceremonias, sirviendo básicamente como el DJ de la noche.
